Are Dental Hygienists able to provide care without a Dentist?

• Independent Dental Hygienists are able to provide oral health care without the presence of a dentist. 

What to expect during an appointment ?

• A comprehensive health history

• Dental x-rays

• Assessment of the head, neck, and jaw

• Identify any areas of concern

• Removal of biofilm and calculus in order to prevent or address gum disease

• Polishing for stain removal

• Fluoride treatment to prevent tooth decay and sensitivity

• Education on at-home oral care

Do you experience dental phobias or dental anxiety?

• Have no fear! Our clinic is based in a cozy home setting ; there are no loud noises, dental smells , or drills, providing clients with a relaxing experience.

Do you still need to see the Dentist?

• Yes, we strongly recommend visiting your dentist for a yearly exam in order to diagnose dental cavities and other problems. At Bouctouche Dental Hygiene, we will also refer you as needed to any specialist or general dentist.

Can I get in for an appointment quickly?

• Yes, we will accommodate your needs . We work flexible hours , including after hours and on Saturday mornings, for your convenience.

Will the cleaning be painful?

• We offer needle free anesthetic to help reduce sensitivity during deep cleanings.

 

Is direct billing available?

• Yes, we direct bill to all major insurance companies. All hygiene treatments are normally covered under insurance except for whitening services and products.
